It's Monday Again

Home Blessing Day...well, today I managed to wash the sheets (good thing I remembered I didn't wash them last week otherwise I would have skipped it). I cleaned the Kitchen (windex and lysol) and Main Bathroom and did the mirrors and windows upstairs. I vacuumed upstairs and cleaned off some Hot Spots. All in all, I didn't manage a full blessing (again) but I feel really really confident about what I did do.

In a way this is all annoying because I am finding dirt under and around the dirt I am cleaning (I never would have noticed it otherwise). *sigh* This is going to be a longer process than I realized.

Get off your Franny!

Well, the other day I was expecting company (a playdate) and was happy that thanks to Flylady, I was free enough of CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) that I would not be totally embarrassed. I knew that the bathroom could use a once over, but it was so much cleaner than it used to be that I wasn't worried about it.

Well, someone wanted me to get off my Franny and clean!

As I was checking email (and reading my Flylady reminders, lol) the bottom of the chair I was sitting in collapsed and suddenly I was sitting INSIDE the chair! Honestly, it was painful but really funny. I said to myself...well I guess I'll just do a swish and swipe in the bathroom then.

Apparently that was not good enough!

While I was wiping the counters, my lovely son jumped up and grabbed the cord of our small lamp bringing it smashing down on the counter and scattering glass ALL OVER THE FLOOR!

YIKES!

Well, thanks to Flylady I was dressed to SHOES and able to whisk Master J out of the bathroom with no injuries to either of us. Then I proceeded to sweep and then scrub the counters and the floor.

By the time our playdate arrived my bathroom was GLEAMING.

So...thanks Flylady!

Monday

Today is Daily Blessing day where you are meant to bless your home by dusting, mopping, changing the sheets, throwing out magazines, polish mirrors and doors and emptying the trash.

Well...maybe it's gross, but I don't change the sheets every week. I'll do it next week. I did dust a little. Master J helped out with the low bits :-). Mopping...nope. We don't have any magazines to throw out. I did the mirrors and door plus added the stove and shower door so that's good. The trash is John's job and I'm not doing it. Oh, and I did a load of laundry and a swish and swipe in the bathroom.

Not too shabby for a morning. Of course you're supposed to get that all done in an hour (yeah right! with two little kids?? no way!) but I'm pleased. I even got to eat lunch today.

Off to the library this afternoon.

I'm a Clean Machine!

I've started to follow the Flylady system to prevent CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) in my home and to keep my sanity. I've come to understand that organization, routine and cleanliness play a big part in conquering/preventing my depression. It's been one week and although I'm certainly not a model flybaby, I feel SO much better. The Husband has even commented on how much more energy I have, especially in the morning. Why? I have a routine that involves getting out of bed, out of sleepwear and into my attire for the day. "Dressed to shoes" as Flylady puts it. I've also found that getting Master J dressed (although not quite to shoes) puts us in a much better place. If we decide to go out it is not an hour long process. Now everything is ready to go and I can just throw shoes on him, pick up the baby and we're out the door.

Sanity is just around the corner!!
